Kirklees Council is dedicated to using technology to streamline council services. Digital Kirklees designs solutions with the involvement of residents, partners and services and takes a holistic approach to how digital services are delivered, maximising their impact on the people and places of Kirklees. One of the council’s innovations is the MyKirklees Account. The MyKirklees Account is designed to be the only place residents need to go to do business with the council, partners and other agencies, removing layers of confusion and working with partners and agencies to join the district up and making it easier for all. The MyKirklees Account lets residents apply for waste e-permits, manage council tax and housing benefits, view bin collections and report missed bins, and much more. The service has over 75,000 subscribers, representing 40% of households in the borough.
