Tackling the cost of living crisis
Building a solar farm to advance clean energy and financial objectives
Telford and Wrekin Council
In 2014, the Telford and Wrekin Council completed its work to build a solar farm. The construction process from initially planning to completion took less than 18 months, and to date, the farm has generated 15.04Gwh of energy and helped avoid over 7.5k tonnes of CO2. This has helped the council become more environmentally and financially sustainable, reduce our carbon footprint and offset cuts in central government funding (over the solar farm’s lifetime it will have made £4.4m profit).
