The Blackhorse Yard development is a flagship mixed-use development on the former Webbs Industrial Estate in Waltham Forest Council that exemplifies not only the council’s commitment to providing affordable housing, but its highly innovative approach to culturally-led and creatively driven regeneration. Brought forward in partnership with the GLA and Swann Catalyst, the design will draw on the area’s rich industrial heritage and when finished will be London’s first new 100% affordable housing development. In addition to providing much needed new housing close to key transport links, the development will provide new retail and employment space, including significant new creative and co-working space. These will link to nearby artists’ studios and businesses, as well as the Walthamstow Wetlands, providing opportunities unrivalled in London for combining space to live, work and play.
