Stevenage Borough Council

Stevenage Borough Council facilitates and supports the Stevenage Against Domestic Abuse Forum; a group of survivors that come together to discuss and propose actions to improve services provided by partner agencies for people seeking help to escape from domestic abuse. Forum members have also been empowered to be advocates and support workers for other victims. The Forum continues to grow in strength, raising the issue and enabling victims of domestic abuse to feel safe in seeking help and advice, as well as helping the wider service to be developed into neighbouring areas and authorities. The SADA Forum has been recognised nationally as a beacon of good practice and has won the TPAS National Award for Excellence in Community Action.

The LGA Labour Group exists to fight the corner for Labour councillors at a national level, both within
the cross-party Local Government Association and with the Labour Party at Westminster. The Group provide a strong voice for Labour councillors and act as a platform for ideas and innovation for all those committed to an effective localist element to Labour politics and policies.
