Developing an innovative approach to reduce domestic violence
Councils
Islington Council
Islington Council is determined to prevent and reduce violence against women and girls, and is delivering a wide range of innovative services to help support survivors of domestic violence and abuse. Last year, the council launched a new project which will work with a small number of high risk survivors of domestic violence and abuse who are affected by homelessness. Alongside this, the Domestic Abuse Recovering Together project is working with female survivors and their children to support recovery, and the IRIS Project is training GP practices and placing specialist staff in surgeries to identify and support survivors.
