Despite Islington’s impressive record of building new genuinely affordable homes - 2,446 new genuinely affordable homes delivered since 2010 – Islington Council recognised it needed to adopt some new approaches to continue addressing the scale of the housing crisis. A new turbo-charged New Build Team is being created, that brings all the necessary expertise together to get more genuinely affordable homes built. Multi-disciplinary teams bring together architects, project managers, planners, lawyers and communications specialists with the simple aim - maximise the ability to build new council homes.
