Gloucestershire County Council is attempting to increase VCSE capacity to take pressure off adult social care. Stroud District Council Health and Wellbeing Partnership helped to promote ASC funding for 13 new VCSE projects to support vulnerable groups. Stroud District Council are also running ‘speed dating’ events so front line care workers like district nurses and social workers can meet with front line VCSE and council staff. These short, sharp networking events are helping all parties to understand how and where to refer clients. They help to clarify expectations, resolve service bottle-necks and strengthen professional relationships between the VCSE, council, health and social care sectors.
