Plymouth City Council has appointed Young Carers Champion to be the voice of young carers across the city. The champion will work alongside the city’s universities to help trainee teachers to support young carers at school. Every school in the city now has their own young carer lead and together with the champion will ensure that the role of young carers across the city is understood, raised and celebrated.  This initiative has resulted in an additional 700 carers being identified so far.
