Telford After Care Team (TACT) was established in 2012 from a small grant agreement from Telford & Wrekin Council.  This Community Interest Company is a mutual aid team of recovering drug and alcohol service users, who support people in recovery.  Since its establishment, TACT grew through partnership working with the council, Telford & Wrekin Clinical Commissioning Group and StaRS (specialist drug and alcohol treatment service) leading to nearly 700 people being supported by them in 2017/18.  As a result of the work, the Borough’s recovery outcomes have improved, with 98.5% of those leaving treatment having no housing need, comparted to 95% nationally, 71% of those in recovery are support by mutual aid, compared to 51% nationally, and 40% of those leaving treatment are employed, compared to 29.3% nationally.
