The Queens Park area of Blackpool has undergone a £22 Million transformation from an area blighted with anti-social behaviour and a high turnover of residents to a vibrant new neighbourhood. Blackpool Council has collaborated with the developer to offer construction apprenticeships during the building of the new estates. The five tower blocks, built in the 1960s, were demolished in two phases along with a dozen maisonettes. The tallest of the blocks was 23 storeys containing 120 one bedroom flats. All existing tenants were given the option of moving into a new property on the estate which is now made up of 199 family homes and apartments.
